Autumn high top shoes 2023

Barefoot high-top shoes are popular in autumn. You will appreciate them not only in the autumn, but also in the mild winter. We have therefore prepared a comparison of children's boots with detailed descriptions of which are suitable for narrow and which for wide feet, what we recommend in terms of instep height, which cut is best for a dominant big toe or a slim ankle, and which have a sturdier heel counter.

To make sure you don't make the wrong choice, we recommend that you measure your foot first.

For tips on how to measure your foot as accurately as possible, check out this article. Then take a look at the comparison guide and use the filters in the shop to find shoes with the length and width you need. We're a fast shipping company, so we'll get your order to you as soon as possible.

The chart below gives a basic overview of the models compared according to whether they are for a narrow, medium, or wide toe part. The chart also shows the basic features of the models compared.

Comparison of barefoot high-top shoe sole shapes

The shape of the sole should follow the shape of the foot as closely as possible. It should not be narrower/smaller at any point, but neither should it be unnecessarily larger.

Comparison of children's shoes on the foot

To help you make your choice without sending the goods back and forth, please read the detailed descriptions for each brand. The shoes in size 26 are photographed on an average foot size of 159 x 66 mm (medium to high instep, medium ankle) for comparison purposes, i.e. some shoes would be ideal in a different size or may not fit at all.

Froddo

  • anatomically shaped toe box, with plenty of room for the dominant big toe
  • suitable for the average or fin-shaped foot
  • narrower in the heel, good tightening for slim ankles
  • for lower instep, not suitable for chubby feet
  • very flexible sole with a more pronounced pattern (the compound is more durable this year than on some older models), or models are available with a smoother sole that is a little less flexible
  • sole approx. 4 mm + 3 mm pattern
  • zero drop
  • moderately firm in the heel, multiple layers of material
  • Froddo has a lot of models (leather, fleece, or with a membrane inside), velcro fastening, laces, and Chelsea cut
  • with a membrane (not stitched around the perimeter for higher water resistance) or full leather without a membrane, with a stitched outsole

Froddo

Protetika

  • anatomically shaped toe box, wider than the original models, but curls in at the big toe
  • not recommended for the dominant big toe
  • suitable for medium and slightly high instep
  • for average ankle, not recommended for fin-shaped feet with narrow heel/ankle
  • flexible sole with minimal tread
  • sole approx. 4 mm
  • zero drop
  • medium firm in the heel, multiple layers of material

Protetika

Beda Janette (BF 0001/W/M)

  • anatomically shaped toe box, suitable for the dominant big toe
  • suitable for straighter toes, they do not descend towards the little toe
  • suitable for the higher instep
  • fits overall chubbier feet, wider heel
  • not recommended for fin-shaped feet, the area around the ankle is quite roomy (there are better models for narrower ankles (BF 0001/W/M/SO/2)
  • flexible sole with minimal tread
  • sole approx. 4 mm
  • zero drop
  • no reinforced heel counter, but there are variants marked OP = reinforced heel counter, where the heel is sturdier
  • boots with membrane for higher water resistance

Beda-Janette

Beda Jasmine (BF 001/W/M/SO/2)

  • anatomically shaped toe box, suitable for the dominant big toe
  • suitable for straighter toes, they do not descend towards the little toe
  • suitable for a narrower foot overall than the BF 0001/W/M/TS model - they are more pronounced at the instep and around the ankles, fit the shape of the foot a little better
  • flexible sole with minimal tread
  • sole approx. 4 mm
  • zero drop
  • without a reinforced heel counter, but there are variants marked OP = reinforced heel counter, where the heel is more sturdy
  • boots with membrane for higher water resistance

Beda-Jasmine

Bobux Hi Court

  • toe box rather round, and quite wide but inappropriately shaped for the dominant big toe
  • suitable for a generally narrower foot
  • sole approx. 7 mm with 2 mm tread
  • a little stiffer than most barefoot shoes but allows for a natural gait, lower sensorimotor sensation through the sole
  • zero drop
  • no arch support, only a few layers of leather, but softer in the heel than e.g. Prosthetics or Froddo
  • we have not included Bobux shoes above size 27 in the sale because they have new soles with a much worse toe shape and a higher heel

Bobux-Hi-Court

Bobux Patch

  • anatomically shaped toe box, also suitable for the dominant big toe but not for fan-shaped toes
  • appropriate for the overall slimmer foot, especially at the ankle and around the heel
  • for the average instep
  • sole approx. 4 mm with 2 mm tread
  • flexible in all directions
  • zero drop
  • no reinforced heel counter, but there are enough layers of material behind the heel and under the ankles to make them stronger
  • good fit on narrower feet thanks to the combination of a zipper on the inside of the shoe and Velcro straps in the instep

Bobux-Patch

Koel Bob (Korkid sole)

  • narrower toe box shape, suitable for descending toes without the dominant big toe
  • appropriate for slim feet in the heel and instep
  • good tightening on narrow ankles
  • very flexible sole approx. 3 mm with 1 mm tread
  • zero drop
  • without a reinforced heel counter, slightly reinforced with several layers of leather

Koel-Bob

Koel Don

  • roomier in the toe box than Bob
  • ideally shaped for the dominant big toe or fan-shaped toes
  • as roomy in the heel as the Bob, thus suitable for the foot in the fin shape, can be tightened well around narrower ankles
  • suitable for straighter toes, not descending towards the little toe
  • for an average instep

  • zero drop

  • significantly descending towards the little toe
  • not too wide in the heel, for the average foot
  • lots of room in the instep and around the ankles, which fits chubbier feet
  • zero drop
  • extra flexible sole, the most flexible of the models compared
  • approx. 2 mm + 2 mm tread pattern (still positive feedback on the durability of the sole)
  • no reinforced heel counter, slightly reinforced with multiple layers of leather, but rather soft

D.D.Step

Jonap

  • anatomically shaped toe box, slightly curls in at the big toe
  • slightly descending towards the little toe
  • for the average foot in the heel, ankle, and instep area
  • can be tightened to the fin-shaped foot (if the toes are not in the fan, then the toe box shape is not ideal)
  • the slim version is a little narrower in the toe area and higher in the instep (slight difference)
  • zero drop
  • well flexible sole, approx. 3 mm + 1 mm pattern
  • no reinforced heel counter, slightly reinforced with more layers of material, directly behind the heel, and there is an overlapping protective layer
  • some models have a membrane for higher water resistance

Jonap

Ef

  • anatomically shaped toe box, also suitable for the dominant big toe
  • descending towards the little toe
  • rather for the wider foot at the toes
  • for an average foot in the heel, decent tightening on a fin-shaped foot
