Ten years with barefoot footwear means thousands of models in our hands, hundreds of pieces of feedback from parents, and dozens of hours of discussions about what a good shoe should do and how it should look. And that’s exactly how Fooz was born – as a response to what we kept hearing: “We’d love high-quality barefoot shoes, but at a good price.”

Fooz is not a copy of any existing brand. We designed the shape to respect the natural space for toes while still looking elegant. We fine-tuned the sole to be sufficiently flexible yet durable enough to handle more demanding terrain.

Fooz Is Also About the Details

Rubber tips on the Velcro straps aren’t just for looks – they make fastening easier and protect the straps from fraying. Reflective elements increase safety in low light. Textile models feature a protective toe coating to prevent scuffing and dirt. The combination of elastic laces and Velcro makes putting the shoes on easier – which both extends their lifespan and encourages children to wear them more willingly. Perforation in the all-season models ensures that feet don’t overheat unnecessarily on warmer days.

Quality Materials for Every Occasion

Our range includes leather models, artificial leather shoes as a more affordable alternative with similar properties, and lightweight canvas shoes for warm summer months. Each material has its place – it depends on what your children need and where the shoes will be used most often.

All models share the same foundation: the proprietary Fooz SenseGrip sole, offering the right balance between flexibility, durability, and slip resistance. The sole thickness is 4 mm + 2 mm tread, designed to provide sufficient protection while still allowing natural movement.

Why Fooz Was Created

At the beginning, there were two main ideas. First, to produce a shoe that would make us say: “Yes, this truly meets all our expectations…”. Because in manufacturers’ collections, we were always missing something. You know how it is – one pair has a less-than-ideal sole, another has the wrong shape, a third misses the mark in design, and another is simply too expensive. Which connects to the second idea: barefoot shoes should be accessible to everyone. Together, these ideas form the foundation of Fooz – quality shoes at a reasonable price. Not cheap, but accessible. Not premium, but honest. Simply shoes that make sense.

How to Choose Your First Pair of Fooz

When selecting Fooz shoes, think primarily about where your children will wear them most often. Leather models are versatile and more durable, canvas models are lighter and more breathable for warmer weather, and artificial leather shoes offer a balanced middle option. Choose the size according to foot measurements with sufficient extra room, just as you would with other barefoot shoes.
